IVGD expect to break ground on two large new-build projects in late 2010. First is 18 holes course De Swinkelsche, a heathland course to be build next to De Strabrechtse Hei, the largest heathland expanse of the Netherlands. Second is the 36 holes course Princepeel, where two courses with distinct characters will be built on almost 400 acres.
IVGDs designs Land van Thorn and De Lage Mors have both been a big succes after their openings. Not only have both golf courses supported clubs of more than 500 members in a very short time, but also the reviews have been very positive. Golf Weekly, the leading Dutch golf magazine, even gave the Land van Thorn course a rating of 8,5 out of 10 points, their highest ever rating for a new course.
The website GolfClubAtlas, which is dedicated to the open discussion of golf course architecture across the globe, conducted an extensive interview with IVGD founder Frank Pont. In the interview he discusses how he got into the business, his view on restoring historic courses and his future plans. Read the interview
