In 2006 Frank built his first new nine hole golf course at Emmen, a city in the North East of the Netherlands.
The course is built on pure sand, and weaves in and out of an existing wood that was already present on the site. The sandy soil allowed the course to be built on a tight budget, nevertheless enough earth was moved to create some natural looking lakes and height differences of up to 10 meters.
The character of the course is rather American, with spectacular visual design elelements reminiscent of a course such as Augusta, with crowned greens, deep bunkers and frequent waterhazards to contend with.
